In the world of music can happen. Since returning to scene groups seemed totally dead (if Finch) until ready to chop those formations that appeared to be surfing the wave of success (Chief). Luckily for us there are bands that we know a priori never be separated. One is Foo Fighters quintet that has just entered a period of rest and through the words of Dave Grohl wanted to confirm that there will be no divorce group. Not today, not tomorrow, not in ten years.
"People should not ever feel fear regarding a possible separation of Foo Fighters. It's like your grandparents divorciasen, that will never happen. "This statement we read in an interview that the singer (and interim battery Queens Of The Stone Age) has granted to Rolling Stone. And it felt so good to feel that the synergy between them still manages to shine in moments of rest which is just delve right.
By the way, be very attentive to our website tomorrow as it is quite likely that we end up writing something on a more than likely collaboration between Paul McCartney and former members of Nirvana (Grohl / Novoselic) that could take place today in New York for the benefit concert will help raise money for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The Gaslight Anthem in Barcelona
A Thursday night is not, on principle, the best day of the week for a concert, but it appears that, in the end, The Gaslight Anthem can succeed and fill any room in which touch, regardless of any other circumstances or event with which they must deal.
And so, as we said, a room full Apolo are chock was again small (remember his concert in July 2011) for the presentation of their fourth album, Handwritten (2012). Punctual as clockwork, Brian Fallon and company jumped into the ring without making much noise with "Mae" as hinting that not merely a classic rock band and they do not like being enclosed, but their live is plural, nuanced . So the next topic, to return to the source, was the celebrated "The '59 Sound", with more than one other that did not take something warm to jump properly. Then one of the key pieces of the new album, the eponymous "Handwritten", in which Fallon makes clear who wears the gallon in the band and who should take the leading role in his shows.
More talkative and fun than in the past, the New Jersey occasionally joked with the audience, explaining war stories about the new songs and how, because of selling bands like Muse, among others, have not been able to touch so many rooms and countries as they would have liked in this European tour. From there, cool efficiency and seniority shook hands in a certain year and scrupulous review of the main themes of the new album (with the exception resounding "National Anthem") and common in all the concerts of the band, as "Film Noir", "Miles Davis & the Cool", "Here's Looking at You, Kid", "The Backseat" or "American Slang"
In exchange for not enjoying "Bring it On", one of our favorite topics of Americans, we enjoy a cover of a Dylan classic, "Changing of the Guards" and himself as a small classic "Blue Jeans & White T -Shirts "instant before close down, as expected, with the energetic" Great Expectations "from his fantastic The '59 Sound (2008).

Will The Civil Wars on the verge of separation?
They became the star folklore duo last year. They opted to several Grammys, taking a couple (including "Best folk album") and the album achieved a remarkable position - number 12 - in the Billboard ranking. Success seemed to be present in every pore that make The Civil Wars, and everything presaged something even bigger in 2013 and facing a possible second studio album. Unfortunately sometimes the pressure, or more personal reasons, are those just ruining a winning formula like yours. That is exactly what happened in the last days: Joy Williams and John Paul White confirmed via Facebook that canceled the rest of the concerts were scheduled in New Zealand and the United States due to "internal disagreements and irreconcilable differences of ambition ".
He chews the tragedy at home from the creators of "Poison & Wine" or "To Whom It May Concern '. Neither the (supposedly) hopeful comment "hope to release new music for fans in 2013" leaves us feeling good. If you have come this far is because there are many internal problems, and that of "irreconcilable differences" critical condition smells everywhere.
Will have to see how things develop. Nevertheless the thing is located in a really negative point. And we input that we took for granted and end up coming out in 2013 that the successor of "Barton Hollow". There is still a gap (very little) of hope, but worth going ...

The Gaslight Anthem - Handwritten (2012)
The U.S. state of New Jersey has given birth to some of the most important icons of a variety of musical styles. From Patti Smith to Bruce Springsteen, to most of the members of Bon Jovi, The Fugees or Skid Row, and it seems that a new band is sitting in limbo in NJ musicians (and American).
The Gaslight Anthem, the band led by the considered "successor" of fellow Bruce Springsteen, Brian Fallon, presents his first album released by a "major"-and fourth-band, Handwritten, an album that has not left indifferent anyone.
And its mix of punk, indie folk with touches of rock that hit and strong especially after his second feature, The '59 Sound, has generated an avalanche of critical acclaim that led to share stage-and Collaborate Live - with the aforementioned Bruce Springsteen American Idol or walk through the stages of the world's most important festivals, such as Reading Festival Rock Am Ring or German.
Just bring the needle to vinyl or hit play in our player, you realize that is before the consolidation of a new star.
The roar of the first issue of "Handwritten" the single '45 ', sounds powerful, with an introduction and a cry that inject pace into the veins of the listener as if the most deadly poison. Some choruses to be chanted, catchy ... simple but effective. '45 'Is basically and in each of its letters, commonly define as "great song."
In the second song jump, others chanted cries give way to the song that is named after the album: 'Handwritten'. A guitar riff but does not exhaust resulting form, with a broken voice and rough Fallon (who comes to remind the Boss), a cocktail that inevitably leads us to listen to the next track. And that's 'Here Comes My Man', with a basic rhythm battery of Benny Horowitz, without any complications, and a catchy "oh sha la la"-resource differently but always used correctly is present in almost all the tracks on the album, 'fully met.
The next turn is for 'Mulholland Drive', which begins with another guitar intro of Alex Rosamilia, which functions as a second voice, performing a single accompanying Fallon along almost the entire song. Solvent and Alex Levine's bass playing tellingly, 'Mulholland Drive' has a good combination between voice and melodic six string that is soft but intense.
Then the disc seems out some U.S. bases to punk, to the sound of a harmonica and a touch of gospel in the voice of Brian Fallon, not take away one iota of strength to all that we heard from the principle, introduce the subjects 'Keepsake', 'Too Much Blood' and 'Biloxi Parish'. In all, the "second voice" of the band, the six strings of Rosamilia, giving authoritarian shown incredible strength to the sum total of the group. Half the record is consumed and each song is like a brick in the wall, one by one are combined to provide an overall sense of the album, none seem disparate to the other. The next topic, 'Howl' is a ray of just two minutes, starting with the "hook" which has been mentioned as one of the key pieces of the voices of The Gaslight Anthem, a "Hey, Hey, Heeeey!" That , with a chorus following the game, downloading a force that counteracts the point of tranquility of the three previous issues.
In the final stretch of "Handwritten" find 'Desire', which continues the line of force of 'Howl' for, with a quick introduction, develop a theme which will lead rapidly to the two final issues, slow but impressive: 'Mae 'and' National Anthem '. The latter is a ballad that ends the album talking about love, life and God with a very soft string section supporting the arpeggios leaving Fallon's guitar.
In short, "Handwritten" is a high quality along with logic, that knows how to combine different types of smooth intensity ... an album that gives a glimmer of hope, the rock is not dead, rock can still hit hard and Gaslight Anthem is the example.

Norah Jones - She's 22
It is little to Norah Jones concert at the Auditori of Barcelona, and we can not avoid hearing every day a "Little Broken Hearts" that has completely conquered. Let's face it: the dark is really fascinating way in which the creator of "Come Away With Me" and "Feels Like Home" has deconstructed some of the passages Tenebres occurred both in his personal history as it occurred in the life their closest people.
The heartbreak is the main theme of "Little Broken Hearts", so shine with their own light topics like grim 'Miriam' (which we analyze in depth two weeks ago) or 'She's 22', a court in which Jones is explanation of finding love your ex boyfriend professed by a young man who, incidentally, has ten years younger than the actress and singer.
Sensuality and harshness are holding hands on a piece of 3 minutes in length showing more fragile face of one of the few singers who, with his sensitivity, still remain erect a musical career that has prevailed since 2000.

Retrieving chapter of "Iconoclasts" with Fiona Apple and Quentin Tarantino
There is nothing I like better than those reports in which the show's producers fucks two artists from different disciplines and unite them for a certain period of time. Tracking conversations in such meetings are often the most interesting, getting different views range from the art world to analyze their role in the media circus (and public). I still remember the love he professed for "Iconoclasts," a Sundance Channel show that aired for five long years (2005 - 2010) and was attended meetings of artists including Ron Howard and Steve Nash, Venus Williams and Wyclef Jean or Today our protagonists: Fiona Apple and Quentin Tarantino.
I'm a big fan of chapter starring the creator of "The Idler Wheel ..." and director of "Pulp Fiction". Both were known for some time (in fact girlfriend Fiona was Paul Thomas Anderson, one of the best friends of Quentin) and that led them to maintain a very good friendship over a period of their lives. After several years without seeing, Tarantino and Fiona return to match the occasion of the program, causing all sorts of getting the most endearing moments.
More than anecdotes, or mere nonsense, as discussed in the video, I'm definitely with deep converse between them on the status of artists, the reason for the alleged consequences (second albums, second movies ) and contamination in the music and film industry. It is with stories so one discovers true fanaticism that the director of "Reservoir Dogs" feels for his films (at least for the first), and the emotional impulse that led always to Fiona Apple to show their feelings in front of a piano .
I may not like the singing style of Fiona Apple, or the frantic way of directing by Quentin Tarantino. Even so I highly recommend you to try to see the report, and if you are interested in the art world. Because more than the work of sound XX or YY, "Iconoclasts" is about how to generate works, and how to understand them from the point of view of who produced them.

The Vaccines - Come Of Age (2012)
His story is crazy. The Vaccines founded the band in 2010, suddenly they signed to Columbia Records, released a debut album - "What Did You Expect From The ...?" - And only years after the end of 2011 had already eaten half the size singles world 'Post Break Up Sex', 'Norgaard' and 'Blow It Up'. So effective is the formula sound of London that after taking their first LP went straight for a second: an album called "Come of Age" which will be released tomorrow in Europe and the UK.
Unlike what is seen in their debut album, Young Justin's band this time wanted a record that accurately reflect the strength of their live energy. To get the frantic foursome locked himself in the studio with Ethan Johns (Ryan Adams, Laura Marling), producer Justin & Co. pushed to record all issues in the old way. You know: button "rec" tight and everyone playing and singing like crazy. The result of this imperfect but convulsive fabled experiment works in a "Come of Age" which together apparently improves on its predecessor.
And the surprise is that I've been with "Come of Age" has been capitalized. There is an aura sound, sixties soul and post-punkera appearance that all issues surrounding the compact. That with "What Did You Expect From ...?" Did not happen, the issues were excellent (undeniable!) But more than an LP like a disparate collection of singles. A clear example of this new situation? The established between 'I Always Knew' and 'All In Vein', both pieces appear to be carved on a pattern that leads directly to the heart more purely rock roller of yesteryear.
After several listeners feel that there are two songs that are above the rest. The first is 'Aftershave Ocean', a sinuous piece four minutes in which Freddie Cowan's guitar takes on a crucial and refreshing role. Then there's 'Bad Mood', probably more furiously cutting rocker Londoners have managed so far. Such is the emphasis of this savage cut the concert audience of Vaccines have already begun to "moshpits" to listen to the first verse of this song frantic.
Did you like "What Did You Expect From ...?"? Yeah? So please listen to "Come of Age". Perhaps individual parts are not as huge as the first LP but a collective level encourages dance album and brings a new sound wave as refreshing. That, at this point in 2012, it is an outrage. A surf!

Song by song Toundra analyze issues "(III)"
Toundra yesterday published its third and highly anticipated studio album entitled "(III)". The expectation created with this LP has been complete and they, who have always known feet touch ground at all times, have managed to carve another big bombshell that will delight those who enjoy the beautiful with the apocalypse that characterizes his delusional instrumental sound.
Looking ahead to this time we wanted to know absolutely everything about the recording process of 'Lilim', 'Mars', 'Spiritist' and other songs "(III)" so we got in touch with the band from Madrid to see if we could make a 1 x 1 album cuts, something they very kindly agreed adding a clear and concise message: this time Toundra have wanted to deviate from the main path of post rock. What was important at this point? "Victor explains to us:" We have tried to offer something different to our previous album, something more raw, straight, dark, aggressive yet elegant, more complex, and it sounds better compound more our live. It is clear that there are many things and very ambitious, but to this day, is the best record we could do. ". Moreover Esteban tells us that DNA is well expressed in Toundra "(III)", "believe that the disc very well defined Toundra because what you hear is what we are: a battery that protrudes completely from the rest, two guitars faced with completely opposite styles and low that brings together all the instruments and (Alberto) always has the last word. "
Without further ado here are the boys' own analysis of Toundra. Enjoy it!
01. - Ara Coeli:Esteban: Since Victor taught guitar opens the track with the synth knew that this topic would be the track 1 disc. Victor is also the progressive riff that, in our opinion, is the best parts of (III). It's a song that defines our sound right now is pretty parts, crescendo, sugarcane parties, progressive ... but otherwise I do not think an earlier in structure and instrumentation. So I like both. Will fill in an atmosphere of harmony and order and then give a blow to the head. Also involved Hellacopters inspired and was the first riff I did when we knew we had to get to work on this album every man for himself. But the good thing about this group is that the different influences that we are safeguarded in all four playing. The name is a tribute to my aunt (and my family), Araceli, cornerstone Girón family, rest in peace.
02. - Black Sky:Victor: It was the second issue that we started writing (around April-May, 2011). Over the last year has had multiple versions and I remember that everything came from a riff that brought Stephen and began directly without the intro. Possibly the subject disk might best be embedded within (II) is more palatable and less complicated structure. The start trying to sound different, rock group of the 70 and then the second part enlazase is more relaxed. By July we get stuck halfway through and had to compose theme Ara Coeli. Sergio (Aloud Music) defines something like "a song that slams you and at the end leaves you totally cleansed." As a curious note that this was the first song I had more than one word as title Toundra entire discography.
03. - Requiem:Esteban: A weekday lunch with Victor was and I said I wanted a theme that oxygenate the disc, something different, as there was in the previous two. I knew what he meant: a theme that will give variety to "(III)", which come out fully the style of practice and influences drank away in time. That night I could not sleep and di guitar playing with the idea of this topic. Then Victor wrote at local guitar melody, and I noticed shortly after with the chord progression. I recorded it to share it with the rest by mail. Then the local Victor composed the guitar riff, which gives an air of melancholy to the topic. From there the issue grows and grows into one of the most epic we've ever done, thanks largely to the string arrangements by Yoren, a childhood friend of Alberto. It also has a guitar solo from our (admired) The Scrip friend Hardtops, for us one of the people who best represents the rock.
04. - Mars:Victor: It was the first song I started writing and just last. It grew out of an improvisation on several ideas that had brought Esteban. There were things that we were not convinced and leave "pending" until about February 2012. Alberto insisted recycle the original principle of the song, which was too broken and wanted to experience something more wild. Alex has used this type of rhythms with other groups, although he had never applied to Toundra, the end result is superb. The song was a coming and going to parties, had up to a war vs Victor alone. Esteban, but luckily recovered sanity and decided to top it with a hand full of timbales dense, much more consistent with the rest of the theme. The icing was recorded trumpet line Manolo, that replicates the guitar melody. This is a very dynamic and fun to play live. I think little by little we are more interested in playing things faster.
05. - Lilim:Esteban: The riff that starts the song we had done it a long time and we left parked. We had several jokes about it because it reminded us of a particular style of music you hate. Thanks to Alex battery change and the work they did on the Westline Studios with the help of Juan Blas in preproduction not just take it out later, but we took it a step further ... the beginning of this song envelops you, it is difficult to explain in words. My guitar is a mantra that nothing enters the dense atmosphere of bass and drums and guitar riff Victor with exotic snakes on the set. I particularly like because it has a line of guitar playing that goes along with the song but small changes within the same (if arpeggiated, if as a riff, that if in crescendo ...). This is something that before we dared and we see that it worked. There's a part at the end which is a tribute to Nirvana, capital group in our influences.
06. - Spiritist:Victor: I think it was the third song we wrote. In (III) have worked enough ideas at home and then we took her to the local. Victor wrote home composed the start of the topic and the next day we taught. Anyone know which group is quite difficult to have a beginning, an end and nothing in between ... I wanted it to be an issue epic feeling to give final disc, but neither lost immediacy, energy, nor was longer than the others. It is another issue that has changed over time, actually got to release a version Ferrara Anniversary concert that today would be unrecognizable to us except for those beginning and end ... It has a very interesting middle and dark, a crescendo of piano with Egyptian air that we love. (Steve: Although I wanted to erase bastards).
Victor: We were very clear from the beginning that we wanted to voice at the end and we gradually fitting all the extra instruments and arrangements have item. A disk end of cutting less than the (I) or (II), much more intention. From guitars fading exhausted.

Lianne La Havas: vitamin soul emerging from Tooting
Overcoming this calorazo strikes us is an almost impossible mission, and thinking that we're back to our hellish jobs. Luckily we'll always have the good soul music genre which today still get interesting figures have emerged under his arms. One of the latest figures to appear in the sky as concrete is Lianne La Havas, a young girl who grew up in the neighborhood of Tooting (London) and is attracting attention from all over Europe thanks to the explosion of color that is apparent from listening to 'Your Love Is Big Enough', his latest single and fabulous.
But I do not want to mislead you bear: their debut album, entitled as the simple and internationally premiered on 9 July, is a gem exquisitely produced by Matt Hales of Aqualung, in which the voice and the guitar grapnels Lianne shine brightly. Strange is that the girl is so young: only 23 years old, and an EP and an LP on their backs, the soloist of Greek descent and has surprised everyone Jamaican tables showing improper for a girl who has two first days in this world.
No wonder at all that the occasional piece of album 'Forget' has a stop very close to the R & B 90. Reading his biography we proved that Mary J. Blige has been one of its most direct references early. That makes your sound more dynamic sections and pompous, so tremendously expansive sound.United States and many parts of Europe await you on the tour that Lianne keep busy until December this year. With so much movement we do not doubt that his formula will end up exploding in much of the world: Warner Bros has been successful with his signing and all the stars seem to have aligned for this beautiful and friendly girl South London gets late or early the top.
His music can be purchased through their official website. In Spotify, at least for now, you can only hear a total of 8 old subjects (EP + tracks released a brief EP / single "Forget").

Evan Caminiti: between wakefulness and dream
Evan Caminitis new album "Dreamless Sleep" is a sonification of the Hindu Sushupti concept-a state between wakefulness and dream, in which the consciousness of desire, evil and fear free. Reverberated guitars and swirling synths produce continually flowing sound mist as they move between light and dark, the atmosphere of creeping Lamentations and devotional hymns verbindent.
Only a few months after the hevorragenden "Night Dust" "Dreamless Sleep" appears on Aug 21, 2012 as Thrill311 at Thrill Jocky.

Max Raabe solo beach
Max Raabe with solo program "Across the Sea" at the Prince Regent Theatre
Max Raabe at the beach - Photo: Concert Office AugsburgThe sea is a romantic metaphor - a symbol of longing and renewal, for parting and longing. Chamber music with an acoustic intensity designs Max Raabe panorama of this enigmatic world of feelings. In predominantly quiet sounds told the solo concert program "Across the Sea" by love and longing, of departing and arriving. Concentrated and varied biases as well as voluminous baritone voice of the great precision, melodramatic arc - serene, elegiac and melancholy. On 30/09/2012, Max Raabe with "Across the Sea" a guest at the Prince Regent Theatre in Munich.
The pieces were written for the most part towards the end of the Weimar Republic, this experimental and contradictory, and wonderfully wacky but not "golden" time. Legendary composers and lyricists such as Fritz Rotter, Robert Gilbert, Walter Jurmann, Austin Egen, Hans May, Walter Reisch and Werner Richard Heymann, without exception, of Jewish origin had, via Vienna, Paris and London to emigrate to the United States - literally "the sea" and far away from home and that language, which she loved and so masterfully controlled. Some were lucky and made careers in Hollywood, not a few later returned to Germany. May their names be known today only a few - their melodies sound across all depths and time breaks.
The ingenious mix of melancholy and irony, sadness and joy of life is the brazen still unmatched legacy of a culture that was destroyed in 1933 brutally. All the wonderful triumph of the late great artist, whose unique, always romantically colored spirit moved with instinctive sureness between major and minor, between the Little and the Great, the Light and Heavy, between wit and madness of life.
A cycle of songs like Max Raabe summarizes the songs, hits and couplets together atmospheric. Classics such as "Ninon," "Somewhere in the world" or "A Song Goes Round the World" Raabe interpreted with a delicate shine away any false sweetness. The silent longing "When the wind blows across the sea" - in the original sung by the Comedian Harmonists - after that line is drawn, which bears the name of the concert program.
Come and visit Max Raabe's solo concert program "Across the Sea" on 09.30.2012 in the Prince Regent Theatre in Munich.

The district gets a creative center - but carefully
"We knew it would be complex and would take a long time," said Munich's cultural advisor, Dr. Hans-Georg Küppers for planning the future of the creative quarter Dachauerstraße. Initial doomsayers of the type "This is not at all" had been proved wrong: step by step building up. Now a jury for the historical Jutier-ton and the neighboring hall has selected five finalists and their use of concepts. By the end is the final extension, setup and use concept will be developed.
Two dozen teams had submitted ideas. It was Kueppers, as on 27 July in a public presentation of the jury's findings, said neither the number nor the quality as expected. The jury was in Kueppers' line with the former director of the intimate theater, the director of the film festival, a curator at the Haus der Kunst, the Urban Planning Councillor, several professors, city councils, county committee members and other persons to occupied the head of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Basel caliber. She did after Kueppers' words still difficult to extract the best ideas.
After the summer break, the five finalist teams will come together for a workshop with the Department of Culture, to promote the realization. Kueppers let hinted that he would like to see form this cooperation. By the end of the year, then to the final concept will be developed. Its implementation will take several years and is, as several teams emphasized, does not apply to all eternity. The utilization plan must remain flexible to provide for new ideas and new space, make modifications and conversions as easy as possible, but still provide an enduring organizational framework.
This framework will one of the teams' penetrating everything "in a create, but still vague, participatory approach, another in the form of a profit company, again another using a collecting agency for artistic products and a team, hear from their presentation to the expertise of an accountant could, with a foundation of public law as a co-sponsor a limited liability company and an association of artists. Four of the five teams will leave the existing two buildings out of respect for its historic industrial architecture as original as possible - they see the different options, but make installations without destroying the impression of space. A team would like to connect the two buildings by a bridge and a lake created among them know. All teams wishing to use the outdoor space intensive. Likely to be decisive but that interior design will prevail eventually.
Whether one of the two halls is basically a generously to members of Santander presentation and venue, and the other a much small-scale-to-use office and production hall, or whether the one for pure and the other is to be optimized for low usage or whether the two facilities will have function rooms (a team in the Jutierhalle proposes a theater space for 400 guests with a telescopic stage and in the hall tonnes another hall with 500 seats or standing room for about a thousand), will show only the optimization round in the autumn. Widespread agreement was that the future school and college in the activity plan should be included as well as future residents and domiciled in the quarter already neighbors. In any case, it should be one or more restaurants. Increased funding to the area as a venue Jutierhalle see all the teams, the one with the other without a gallery installation, a fixed partition walls, the other split "just" by Iron Curtains. Further details of the interior living spaces are quite apart yet. Thus, for not predict whether and where one, two or three stories will be expanded, how much light to penetrate through the upper hall ceiling to the ground floor and where daylight is necessary at all. A team pleads for example, explicitly for a sound-and light-insulated "black box" in which it could come in film and television productions. A team is thinking especially of the independent artist scene and wants this so fragmented and diverse as possible to make room for another may think of large events to trade shows. Common to all of the participatory approach again: Not intended for creative users expanded here, to be furnished and rented out, but with them. A team summarized the challenges to be steps along this way: First it was necessary to reorganize structurally to enable to be involved and open to the process as much as possible, to then derive a basic structure for the halls, so apart from a planning and management team building to design the basic structure with stairs, bathroom facilities, a restaurant and an administrative area with a caretaker and the first action areas, in a third step, it was necessary to establish this site to be aware of the city, in principle, but only temporary, and on the profitability of the tenant to staffelnde offer leases and complete, and so make it as step four, the constant renewal of the creative quarter possible. A team also argued explicitly committed to implement a concept that can be especially after the already active on the site creators to 2016 due to relocation in different lengths fused to preserving old buildings in their operations. The next five years should therefore be explicitly considered as test operation and deallocated. It was spontaneous applause, as interim solutions to portable, this user group logically very interested.

Since her breakthrough with "Bon Voyage" in 2000, they split again and again bearing the hip-hop and eventually create their own style, "Tech-Rap". From then on, pull Deicide's new program through the full consequences, inclined to rely on texts and grotesque experience just such a stage show in which she with plastic wrap, plastic bags, bright green glow sticks and a lot of tape clothed.Madsen
